On 11 April 2019 the Cărtureşti Verona Bookshop hosted an International House Bucharest (IHB) workshop titled “Say it better, hear it better”. Aimed at teachers of English from both state and private schools, the workshop emphasised the role of pronunciation in getting a message across as well as in understanding other people’s speech, and focused on ways of teaching pronunciation productively and receptively.

The trainer who facilitated the workshop was Ms Teodora Manole, Senior Language Trainer and Mentor at IHB, who has been with the school since 2010. A holder of the IH Certificate in Teaching Languages, as well as the IH Certificate in Teaching Young Learners and Teenagers, Ms Manole is currently completing a DELTA course leading to the highest teaching qualification available in the world. Besides teaching, her role at IHB includes providing guidance and support in her capacity as mentor to junior teachers, and delivering teacher training and professional development sessions to fellow trainers.
