What is IH VYL

IH VYL stands for International House Certificate in Teaching Very Young Learners, and is accredited and awarded by International House World Organisation. The IH VYL course aims to prepare teachers for the specific challenges of working with very young learners, aged 3, 4, and 5

years old. Many schools and kindergartens around the world are focusing on language teaching for very young children so this course is an extremely useful tool to have. It gives a solid foundation for VYL teaching with lots of excellent activities and ideas for VYL teachers.

The IH VYL course is recognised and respected by many schools and language centres around the world as a reputable qualification for teaching very young learners. It is the only program in Romania that focuses on instructing this specific age group.

Course content

 

The course covers a range of 10 modules related to teaching very young learners, including classroom management strategies, lesson planning and materials development. Each module includes a face-to-face input session. Assessment consists of practical written tasks, which are invaluable for developing practical skills and building confidence in the classroom, and a final reflective task which allows the participants to consider their most important takeaways and plan for further development.
