Love it or hate it, pronunciation matters. Often overlooked in the face-to-face classroom, it has encountered even harsher times in the online environment, where drilling simply feels like a chore. In the digital classroom, even more of us shy away from pronunciation stages for a number of reasons: the disbelief in their usefulness, limited resources, technical limitations, our students’ perceived lack of interest or even our own lack of energy. This session aims at brushing up on our knowledge of this area, as well as looking at ways of teaching it both productively and receptively and, hopefully, helping us fall (back) in love with pronunciation.

Teodora Manole is a Delta-qualified teacher, teacher trainer and CELTA tutor and is currently Head of Teacher Training at IH Bucharest. Besides teaching and training, she is also passionate about learning all kinds of new things. Her interests include non-formal education, playing board games and improving her German.
