Differentiation: ways to teach students with different language levels and abilities… in the same class
6.45pm – 7.30pmDifferentiation in teaching is not only about adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. It acknowledges that students come into the classroom with varying backgrounds, readiness levels, interests, and learning preferences. In the session we will discuss the ways in which we can differentiate the content, the assessment and the feedback, interactive patterns (e.g. pairs, mixed-ability groups or same-ability groups) or how we can better monitor by challenging more advanced students to support beginners. Differentiation takes thoughtful planning (something we all do on the CELTA Course), but it allows students to engage at their individual level and fosters a classroom environment where each student can thrive.

She is also passionate about school psychology and developmental psychology. From input to insight: evaluating learner progress in receptive skills lessons (a DELTA Module 2 perspective)
7.30pm – 8.15pmThe DELTA Module Two is an in depth exploration of your beliefs and practices as an experienced teacher. As such, it will challenge you to examine what effective teaching of receptive skills is and further investigate the gray area between testing and developing skills. In this session, we aim to look at how we can assess progress and develop strategies that our learners can use when dealing with written or spoken text.
