Are you short of ideas about how to keep your students motivated and engaged during the Easter holiday? Professionals from several International House schools in Spain have come up with lots of creative ideas which you might find very useful. This article shares good practices that your school can borrow to maintain student interest and loyalty in these challenging times.
To keep their students motivated during the Easter break, called in Spain “Semana Santa”, CLIC International House Seville, Cádiz and Málaga decided to organise an incredible cultural programme for Easter!
All of the schools’ students, no matter what age, will be able to join different activities online, such as Easter-egg painting, storytelling for the youngsters, pronunciation classes, or Yoga in English.
Blanca Roters Coca from the school commented, “We try to keep our students motivated and eager to learn a foreign language. This week, there are many people on holiday or kids with no online lessons from their schools or colleges. A week in the situation we are experiencing at the moment feels much longer than in normal life.
“Our main objective during this week is to offer our students the best we can, continue with the live online lessons guaranteeing a quality course, and keep them entertained and amused – always with an educational focus.
“Students can follow all the activities they want. The ones in the morning are mostly for kids and teenagers. Workshops like storytelling, art and crafts, trivia battles or masterclass in football tactics are examples of what’s going on for kids from 6 to 15 years old.
“For adults, we have organised conversation classes in English, French, German or Portuguese, tips to pass official exams, creative writing workshops, yoga sessions or a Pub Quiz.”
Changing from face-to-face to Live Online lessons
CLIC IH launched its Live Online courses three weeks ago, and it has been a great success. The school transformed all face-to-face language groups into online in record time and they keep going! Around 700 students enjoy their live online lessons every week.
CLIC International House Seville, Cádiz and Málaga not only offer English, French, German and Portuguese to the local population, they are also well known for teaching Spanish to international students. Live Online Spanish is also available for students wanting to boost their knowledge in the language or start learning it.
Why Live Online?
Studying online allows you to enjoy all the benefits of a face-to-face lesson, but from the comfort of your own home. The course also ensures real-time interaction with the teacher and fellow students in the classroom.
