It is the original certificate course in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) or teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL), and it has been running for four decades. Amy Gowers

Born in Oldham, Amy has been teaching abroad and in the UK since 2014. Amy believes in regular professional development; she received her MA TESOL from The University of Manchester in 2016, she completed the IHCYLT in 2017, the IHCAM in 2018 and trained as an IHCYLT tutor in 2019. Amy teaches freelance under English with Amy and delivers an ESOL course for refugees, immigrants and asylum seekers in a local college. She has published previous articles focusing on young learners and teenage students in the International House Journal and GalleryTeachers.com.
